FBA Triples Tomorrow. Accelerate Just Put Seller Central Inside Claude. Prime Big Deal Days in 6 Days. October Is Here.

Tomorrow morning, FBA storage fees go from $0.87 to $2.40 per cubic foot. The last day at summer rates is today. If you're reading this and your inventory hasn't shipped, read Section 1 before you do anything else.

But the bigger story landed last week at Amazon Accelerate in Seattle: Amazon put Seller Central inside Claude. A Selling Partner plugin, persistent memory, multichannel tools that let you manage eBay, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and Walmart from Seller Central, and Prime delivery on off-Amazon orders. The game changed. Prime Big Deal Days starts October 6. The peak surcharge hits October 15. BFCM deals close October 20.

Five things for the most important month of Q4 prep.

🧠TOMORROW: FBA Storage Triples. $0.87 → $2.40. Today Is the Last Day at Summer Rates.

This is not a countdown anymore. This is the last day. At midnight tonight, FBA storage goes from $0.87 to $2.40 per cubic foot. Every unit in FBA on October 1 costs 176% more to store than it did yesterday.

If your Q4 inventory arrived in the September 15-28 window: You're positioned. Your first month of storage was at $0.87. Everything from here is execution.

If you missed the window entirely:

✅ Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) is your best fallback. AWD users get extended off-peak storage pricing through October 31 with automatic FBA replenishment. This is the single best cost mitigation available to sellers who are late.

✅ Ship anyway. Late inventory at $2.40 is better than no inventory during Black Friday. The cost of missing the highest-demand 8 weeks of the year is greater than the cost of paying Q4 storage rates.

✅ Run contribution margin at $2.40 for every SKU. Any product that goes margin-negative at Q4 storage doesn't belong in FBA. Consider Seller Fulfilled Prime or third-party fulfillment for those SKUs.

✅ Clear aged inventory TODAY. The 180-day surcharge is live. Long-term surcharge climbs to $6.90/cu ft after 365 days. Removal orders take 10-14 days. Anything submitted today might not process until mid-October.

💡 The math one more time: A product that could have sold at 15% off during Labor Day would have generated more margin than that same product sitting at $2.40/cu ft for three months. The cost of inaction is now locked in for every seller who waited.

🤖Amazon Just Put Seller Central Inside Claude. Multichannel From Seller Central. Prime Off-Amazon. Accelerate Changed Everything.

Amazon Accelerate 2026 (September 22-24, Seattle) delivered the most significant seller-facing announcements in years. This isn't incremental. The operating model for Amazon sellers just changed.

The four announcements that matter most:

✅ Selling Partner Plugin for Claude. Amazon launched a plugin that brings Seller Central data and Seller Assistant directly into Anthropic's Claude (in beta) and Amazon Quick. Seller Assistant now has persistent memory — it remembers your pricing patterns, inventory cycles, and goals across sessions. You can run Seller Central operations from inside an AI assistant.

✅ Multichannel selling tools. US sellers can now manage eBay, Shopify, TikTok Shop, and Walmart from inside Seller Central. Amazon is positioning itself as the operating system for your entire ecommerce business, not just the Amazon channel.

✅ Prime delivery for Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF). Your off-Amazon orders can now carry the Prime badge and Prime delivery speed. This collapses the fulfillment advantage Amazon had over your DTC site.

✅ Free 12-month Quick Plus subscription. Every primary account holder gets Amazon Quick Plus free through December 31, 2026. Quick Plus includes the Seller Assistant with agentic capabilities.

💬 Stat: Amazon says Seller Assistant has reached over 90% of selling partners worldwide. With persistent memory and cross-platform access, it's no longer an assistant — it's an operating layer.

💡 Action this week: Activate the Claude plugin (beta). Connect your non-Amazon channels through the new multichannel tools. Evaluate MCF with Prime delivery for your DTC orders. The sellers who adopt these tools this week get a 58-day head start on everyone who waits until November.

📦 Prime Big Deal Days Starts October 6. 6 Days Away. Your Last-Minute Seller Checklist.

Amazon confirmed Prime Big Deal Days for October 6-7 — 48 hours of Prime member-exclusive deals across 35+ categories in 22 countries. Deal submissions closed September 8, but your organic and advertising playbook for the event is still in your hands.

Last-minute checklist:

✅ Confirm your inventory is in stock and Prime-eligible. Products that lose the Prime badge during the event are invisible. Check FBA receiving status for any shipments that arrived in the last week.

✅ Increase ad budgets 40-60% for October 5-8. Traffic spikes 3-4x during Prime events. A campaign that goes out of budget at 2pm on October 6 misses the afternoon and evening conversion peak.

✅ Activate Sponsored Brand Video on your head terms. Gift shoppers browse comparisons. Video converts 3x better than static during deal events.

✅ Price history is now 365 days. Every shopper can see your full year of pricing. If you raised prices in September to make October discounts look bigger, it's visible. Clean pricing wins.

✅ Prepare your post-event playbook. The traffic surge doesn't end on October 7. Retargeting audiences from Prime Big Deal Days are your cheapest Black Friday prospects. Build the audience now.

💡 Pro Tip: Amazon drops new deals three times per day during the event: midnight, 8 a.m., and an afternoon wave. Time your Sponsored Products budget allocation to match these windows.

📈 The October Fee Stack Is Now Live. Storage + Peak Surcharge + Fuel. Here's the Full P&L Impact.

Three fee increases stack within two weeks of each other. If you haven't run your Q4 P&L with all three combined, your contribution margin is wrong.

The full stack:

✅ October 1 (TOMORROW): Storage triples. $0.87 → $2.40/cu ft/month. Applies to every unit in FBA. No exceptions.

✅ October 15: Peak fulfillment surcharge. ~$0.32 per unit on every order shipped. Runs through January 14, 2027. Stacks on normal fulfillment fees.

✅ Ongoing: Fuel and logistics surcharge. 3.5% applied on top of storage and fulfillment. Never went away.

The combined impact on a $25 standard-size product:

Before October 1: ~$5.50 total FBA cost per unit After October 15: ~$6.85 total FBA cost per unit Difference: $1.35/unit margin loss

On 10,000 units through Q4: $13,500 in additional fees you didn't have in September.

💬 Stat: Amazon held promotion and holiday peak fulfillment fees flat versus last year. The storage increase is the variable. Sellers who shipped in the September 15-28 window saved one month of Q4 storage. Sellers who ship in October pay the full Q4 rate from day one.

💡 AWD reminder: Amazon Warehousing and Distribution users get off-peak pricing through October 31. If you're evaluating AWD for the first time, this is the strongest incentive Amazon has offered.

"Prime Big Deal Days is our dress rehearsal for Black Friday. Same traffic patterns, lower stakes. We're testing three ad creative variants and two pricing strategies to see what converts before November."
